Welding Floor Supervisor

The Role

MJE Livestock Equipment is seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Floor Supervisor to lead our welding team. This role is critical in overseeing all welding operations, including the supervision of welders and the COBOT robotic welding machine.

The Welding Floor Supervisor will ensure that all welding activities are performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position that requires leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of welders to ensure smooth workflow
  • Oversee the setup and operation of welding machines, including COBOT robotic welding
  • Conduct training and provide guidance to welders to enhance skills and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a safe working environment
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of welding work and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Perform welding tasks as required, maintaining high standards of workmanship
  • Utilize measurement tools including hoists and basic hand tools
  • Follow detailed instructions and ensure welders adhere to the same
  • Use basic math skills, including reading a tape measure
  • Identify and address potential issues in the welding process proactively

    • Requirements

  • Proven experience as a welder with supervisory responsibilities
  • Proficiency in identifying welding symbols and understanding shop prints
  • Skilled in at least one of the following areas: Top and Bottoms, Fit UP, Roll, and Weld Test
  • Ability to pass all weld qualifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Capacity to independently lift 50 lbs and handle exposure to varying temperatures
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day
